Jodie Hanrahan

She has been involved with the Southern Tier GLBT Community for many years. Additionally, she was one of the initial organizers of the local PRIDE festival, served on the county Human Rights Commission, chaired the Open & Affirming Committee for Park Church, helped organize the Safe Zone Program for local schools, volunteered for STAP, Juneteenth Celebration (black festival), along with many other community projects.

Jodie believes strongly that equality belongs to us all and that collectively we can, and more importantly, are making a difference.

Jodie happily resides in Gulfport, FL, (a place which she calls "paradise") with her partner, Lucretia. Her favorite saying is "Live life like you dream it! " When asked about a profound moment in her life, Jodie remembers during the first PRIDE, a mother approached her, then hugged her and said, "Thank you for making my gay son's life just a little better here in Elmira!" It doesn't get any better than that!
